According to Yusriah Dzinnun, Chairperson of City DPRD's Commission B, the meeting was held to ensure food stock in the capital. Considering, chicken meat price in some traditional markets began to increase.

The price hike, he furthered, is quite significant. In the last week the chicken meat price has started to increase from Rp 28,000 to Rp 32,000 per chicken. Today, similar condition has increased again from Rp 32,000 to Rp 38,000 per chicken.
City Economic Bureau Head, Sri Haryati explained, along with BUMD engaged in the field of food, her party has held regular meetings every Thursday to ensure staple food price stability.
"Herein we discuss the available stocks, including the needs per day. The point is about price stabilization," he told.
Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Dept. Head, Darjamuni added food stock ranging from rice to meat commodities ahead of Christmas and New Year is safe.
"To keep prices stable, we have worked together with the Food Taskforce under the direct coordination of Polda Metro Jaya," he said.
